Description: All ages, sexes and skill levels welcome. Novices, seasoned club players, old folks, etc. A friendly game but solid competition if you want to match up with those players. Bring a light and dark shirt. Games often continue as late as 1:45 pm in decent weather. If it's not decidedly nasty weather, a game very likely will occur.
Likely spots are:
The most likely spot: The Zilker Park fields north of Barton Springs Rd.
The Zilker Park fields on Robert E. Lee Rd.
The Zilker Park field nearest the playground on the south side of Barton Springs Rd.
(Unlikely) the Zilker Park fields on Stratford Dr. Parking under the Mopac (Loop 1) bridge.
Don't despair. All these spots are within a few blocks of each other.

Description: This open-to-all pickup game welcomes all genders, ages and skill levels. Come out to Austin's premier Zilker Park and join this game. You'll find a nice mix of newbies and rock star ringers.

Bring your own water and a white and dark shirt. No gray, please. (Shirtless is considered dark.)

Exact location will either be on the south or north side of "rock island." Note, there is another (church-affiliated) group that also plays at Zilker on Sunday afternoon starting at 3 PM and is open-to-all. Each game has its own feel and flavor- theirs is a bit more casual than this one.

Numbers will vary depending on weather, holidays and local tournaments. Keep abreast of local events to know what's going on by visiting austinultimate.org

Austin Impact Ultimate Frisbee

Description: We are a sports activity of Austin Impact which is the young adult ministry (singles and young married) of First Evangelical Free Church (evangelical and independent) (www.fefc.org). Everyone in and around Austin, Texas is welcome to play.

As of May 2012, our "primary" game is on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm through an expected date of October. We play as usual during "Blues on the Green" held every other Wednesday during the summer. Check our Facebook page for updates.

The location is: Zilker Park - on the high ground of the "Great Lawn" between the "Rock Island" and Barton Springs Road.

Our group was founded in 2007 and has played regularly since then. We have a consistent and large turnout (around 25-35 players) of regulars and new people each week. We play pick-up Ultimate as co-ed teams at an overall intermediate level with a mixture of advanced, mid-level, and beginner players. Our primary game is either on Sunday afternoons or Wednesday evenings depending on the time of year.

Description: Lunch time pick-up game every MWF regardless of weather (not that Austin ever has bad weather!). We do use an alternate field when there is significant water on the main field. NW Austin Midweek

Description: (Jan 2012) I am trying to find enough people to play a midweek game in Northwest Austin. Field, Day, Time to be determined, based on interest. No experience needed, please e-mail me for more information.

(UPDATE) It looks like there is enough interest, so I am currently scouting for a good field on which to play. The day will be every other Tuesday unless something changes. Time will be 5:00pm until dark until we get longer days.

(Feb 2012 Update) Still have not found a field, but have gotten rejections by several private soccer groups... :-( I still have 4 possibilities that I am pursuing:

* Field at Katherine Fleischer Park
* Field at North Creek Park

Lake Creek Casual Pickup

Description: One of the most beginner-friendly games in Austin, the Lake Creek pickup game is co-ed, every Sunday with decent weather, and runs about 10 to 12:15p. Sometimes we run on ultimate time but we try to be good.

We welcome high skill level players - we have a bunch - but remember that this is a goofball game. Please dish the disc to the newbies when possible and be nice if they drop it.

It's the football field for Grisham Middle School. It's a high-crown field with decent grass and great drainage. Can be hard in the summer but imho it's the 2nd best ulty field in Austin. If it's between 50 and 110F and mostly dry, we're playing. Dogs and kids ok, esp. if they can play. Bring beer if you like.

We also usually run a carpool from central Austin. Contact us if you'd like to get in on that.
