Weekend Game: Warm up starts 10:00-10:15, game is usually 10:20-10:30-11:30.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing."
We have a Google Group for group emails, and WhatsApp for game day decisions and polls
Here's a notsorecent write-up we had in the local paper:
https://ginnyprior.com/2019/08/17/town-crier-ultimate-frisbee-proves-popular-in-parks-of-oakland-hills/
A few items that best give the flavor of our game,
1) Sidelines are more like guidelines, as long as you catch it, you can throw it back in.
2) We do let the younger kids play by kid rules, which means if they touch it but drop it, we count it as a catch where they touched it. Adults need to petition league commissioner for an exception to play by kid rules.
3) We kind of keep score, but some how we always end up in a tie after about an hour when someone gasps "Next 2 out of 3 wins”.
4) Our typical player: "It’s been years since I played regularly, and I wasn’t fast then." Seriously, you can usually match up pretty well with someone in your fitness/skill level. We have slow moving folks who just want to get outside and be active, and players who played competitively in college, however many years ago that was.
5) It's about the journey, not the destination.

This is a strong game with good numbers - happens reliably. We welcome all skill levels. No special equipment needed, but cleats, along with a dark and light shirt, are helpful. Yes, bring a friend!
In this game we have free substitution for women at all times: Because it's hard to match up by gender with last-back substitution, women can sub in on any point. Women always beat men on last back and women can come in on the side that just scored as well - if there's a women on the other side men should ask if any women want to step on before pulling.
When: Saturdays at 10 am
Where: MLK Middle School field - check the field in the track on Hopkins first, then the baseball field up the hill toward Rose.
Why: Peace, love, and frisbees
See you there!

Glen Park Ultimate (SF)
Contact: Tyler Pullen
Email:
Mailing List:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/glen-park-ultimate/joinSaturdays: 2:30 pm
Fields: Grass
Description: The Logistics: We play every Saturday at ~2:30 pm on the main grass field at Glen Park. People meet at the bottom of the tiered wall near the tennis courts. If nobody's there, just wait and folks will probably show up eventually (Frisbee time!). Please bring both a white shirt and a dark shirt so you can play on either team.
The Level: All skill levels are welcome! Most players are intermediate and we often have a good range of ages. Cleats are recommended, but some play in sneakers if that's all they have.
The Law: Spirit of the Game (enthusiastically enforced). Maximum 3 age-based jokes per point.
The Love: Free.
The Lore: Founded in the early '90s, the game has thrived with an ever-revolving cast of colorful characters. A few founding members still play — they're easily identified as the ones who yell the most and run the least. They claim the game was *originally* scheduled at 11am, and gradually crept back to its current time in an impressive show of unwillingness to be the first one there. Most (post)modern scholars believe the current time will never creep further back due to a shared, visceral, unspoken fear of sunset.
The (a)Lliteration: Also free.

We play at the Stanford IM South Fields. We generally start playing within 25-30 minutes of start time. We are currently on summer hours (March-Oct, when daylight savings) starting at 4:00 pm to sunset. During winter months (Nov to March), game will be 2:30pm to sunset.
The game consistently happens every week, but if you want to be sure (and for updates on start time), sign up for the Google Group.

Wednesdays: 12:45-1:15 (Start time)
Fridays: 12:45:15 (Start time)
Fields: Grass / Turf (if grass is wet)
Description: This is a very consistent semi-competitive pick up Ultimate game that has been running since 1993. We play every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Cubberley Community Center Field barring really lousy weather. The game is well attended and almost always has 7 on 7 with subs. Occasionally we need to set up two fields to accommodate attendance.
The start time can fluctuate significantly depending on the time of year but generally ranges from 12:45-1:15 and is driven by player attendance. We generally start when we have a 4 on 4 minimum quorum.
Sign up to the mailing list if you want occasional field shift updates, timing or ultimate related discussions. A weekly headcount is not required so emails are on an as needed basis.
All players are reminded to respect the Official Rules of Ultimate. "Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play"
** Cubberley grass closes seasonally for maintenance in December/January and we typically move to Mitchell Park a couple streets away during this time unless it's been particularly wet in which case we play on Cubberley's turf field.

We usually send an email around weds/thurs to see what numbers we have so please be sure to sign up for email alerts.

Want to start your day with a friendly, no-stress game of Ultimate in the Santa Cruz mountains? Come join us! We play with a huge range of ages and experience- we have grandpas who still dive after the disk, and we've made special rules for kids. We welcome both newcomers and experienced players.
We play Saturday and Sunday mornings when at least 6 people commit through the mailing list or Facebook page. We say we start at 9, but we're a pretty relaxed group and most of us don't show up until 9:15 or so.
We usually play at the Loma Prieta Elementary field on Summit Road, though when necessary we move to a smaller field across the street. Occasionally we will organize an evening game during the week. We'd love to have you join!
