Sundays: 10:00AM

Saturdays: 10:00AM
Fields: Grass
Description: CURRENT LOCATION: Montclair Park
A very casual game of parents and kids, ages range from about 3rd to 10th grade, then from about 35-60, with wide varieties of skill and fitness levels.
Weekend Game: Warm up starts 10:00-10:15, game is usually 10:15-10:30-11:30.
Wednesday game: 5:30-5:45, game from 6:00-7:00.
"We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing."
We have a Teamsnap for group emails, send me an email if you have questions or want to join.
Here's a notsorecent write-up we had in the local paper:
https://ginnyprior.com/2019/08/17/town-crier-ultimate-frisbee-proves-popular-in-parks-of-oakland-hills/
A few items that best give the flavor of our game,
1) Sidelines are more like guidelines, as long as you catch it, you can throw it back in.
2) We do let the younger kids play by kid rules, which means if they touch it but drop it, we count it as a catch where they touched it. Adults need to petition league commissioner for an exception to play by kid rules.
3) We kind of keep score, but some how we always end up in a tie after about an hour when someone gasps "Next 2 out of 3 wins”.
4) Our typical player: "It’s been years since I played regularly, and I wasn’t fast then." Seriously, you can usually match up pretty well with someone in your fitness/skill level. We have slow moving folks who just want to get outside and be active, and players who played competitively in college, however many years ago that was.
5) It's about the journey, not the destination.

Fields: Grass
Description: MLK is fenced off for the summer default second location is San Pablo Park- sign up to the google group for weekly emails and last minute relocation info here. https://groups.google.com/g/VeritasFrisbee
This is a strong game with good numbers - happens reliably. We welcome all skill levels. No special equipment needed, but cleats, along with a dark and light shirt, are helpful. Yes, bring a friend!
We just updated the time so players should show up at start time. But still, if you are new you should know: People tend to straggle in to pickup -- so if you show up and no one is here, just wait
In this game we have free substitution for women at all times: Because it's hard to match up by gender with last-back substitution, women can sub in on any point. Women always beat men on last back and women can come in on the side that just scored as well - a man needs to step off so she can get on.
When: Saturdays at 12:30
Where: MLK is closed for rain - we are trying different turf fields - sign up for the email to get the location.
(((MLK Middle School 1) check big field in the middle of the track first then 2) upper field nearer to Rose and Carlotta)))
Why: Peace, love, and frisbees
See you there!

Glen Park Ultimate (SF)
Contact: Tyler Pullen
Email:
Mailing List:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/glen-park-ultimate/joinSaturdays: 2:45 pm
Fields: Grass
Description: The Logistics: We play every Saturday at ~2:45 pm on the main grass field at Glen Park. People meet at the bottom of the tiered wall near the tennis courts. If nobody's there, just wait and folks will probably show up eventually (Frisbee time!). Please bring both a white shirt and a dark shirt so you can play on either team.
The Level: All skill levels are welcome! Most players are intermediate and we often have a good range of ages. Cleats are recommended, but some play in sneakers if that's all they have.
The Law: Spirit of the Game (enthusiastically enforced). Maximum 3 age-based jokes per point.
The Love: Free.
The Lore: Founded in the early '90s, the game has thrived with an ever-revolving cast of colorful characters. A few founding members still play — they're easily identified as the ones who yell the most and run the least. They claim the game was *originally* scheduled at 11am, and gradually crept back to its current time in an impressive show of unwillingness to be the first one there. Most (post)modern scholars believe the current time will never creep further back due to a shared, visceral, yet unspoken fear of sunset.

Covid- 19 Update 6 June 2023:
Play protocol is no shots, mask required at all times. Shots, mask optional. Boosters encouraged. Subbing every 90 seconds encouraged. As of this Summer, we start about 12:45.
Welcome to the Ultimate Coalition of Palo Alto (UCoPA). Established in 1983, this group is the longest year round disc pick-up game in the USA. We started playing Goaltimate 20 years ago as a warm up to Ultimate when Rick Conner sent us a kit. We have moved on from Ultimate as a group and play half court and occasionally full court Goaltimate. We accept all levels of play making a fun "one of a kind" disc experience.
We play by USAG rule set. Same that are used for our annual Goaltimate Nationals, Austin Texas at the end of March. If you have any questions about the rule set reach out. I am the head of the USAG rules committee and lead writer of the rule set and love to help clear up any confusion.

USA Goaltimate current rule set as of 2020:

Summer 2023: Greer Park is our home on field #1, off Amarillo Field closures TBD
Rain: If rain closes all Palo Alto grass fields, we meet at Mayfield Soccer Complex at the corner of El Camino Real and Page Mill, Palo Alto.
See you on the field of honor,

Friendly and newcomers are always welcome. It's competitive in the sense that we often run hard and play with a stack, but we want everyone to have fun and aren't so worried about who wins etc.
Game starts at 4PM PDT but realistically at 4:30PM so don't panic if you don't see anyone.
Don't forget to bring your white and dark shirts and water! Lots of water because you know...it's the summer!

Wednesdays: 12:30-1:30 (Start time)
Fridays: 12:30-1:30 (Start time)
Fields: Grass / Turf (if grass is wet)
Description: This is a very consistent semi-competitive pick up Ultimate game that has been running since 1993. We play every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Cubberley Community Center Field barring really lousy weather. The game is well attended and almost always has 7 on 7 with subs. Occasionally we need to set up two fields to accommodate attendance.
The start time can fluctuate significantly depending on the time of year but generally ranges from 12:30-1:30 and is driven by player attendance. We generally start when we have a 4 on 4 minimum quorum.
Sign up to the mailing list if you want occasional field shift updates, timing or ultimate related discussions. A weekly headcount is not required so emails are on an as needed basis.
All players are reminded to respect the Official Rules of Ultimate. "Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play"
** Cubberley grass closes seasonally for maintenance in December/January and we typically move to Mitchell Park a couple streets away during this time unless it's been particularly wet in which case we play on Cubberley's turf field.

Want to start your day with a friendly, no-stress game of Ultimate in the Santa Cruz mountains? Come join us! We play with a huge range of ages and experience- we have grandpas who still dive after the disk, and we've made special rules for kids. We welcome both newcomers and experienced players.
We play Saturday and Sunday mornings when at least 6 people commit through the mailing list or Facebook page. We say we start at 9, but we're a pretty relaxed group and most of us don't show up until 9:15 or so.
We usually play at the Loma Prieta Elementary field on Summit Road, though when necessary we move to a smaller field across the street. Occasionally we will organize an evening game during the week. We'd love to have you join!
