Fields: San Pablo Park in Berkeley, CA
Description: Hi there! This is a weekly casual game for novice to intermediate level players. Everyone is welcome, including absolute beginners. Games will take place in Berkeley, CA, at San Pablo Park every Thursday from 6-8PM.

Be warned that we love having a good time and prioritize fun over technique. Basic rules of the game will apply, but we are far from a serious group. Expect working up a sweat, having some hearty laughs, and being in good company : )

We will provide cones and discs, but ask that you bring a dark and light colored shirt (to differentiate teams) and your own equipment (ie. clothing, cleats/shoes, water, etc.)

We are starting to do Saturday games too. They usually happen at 11am or 2pm. If you're interested, join our Facebook group to stay up to date.

Shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions. We hope you'll join us!

At the time of this writing, we're at CUBBERLEY Community Center in Palo Alto. But see:
Encinal Ultimate
http://sites.google.com/site/encinalultimate/
to confirm that we're still there. (We change playing fields from time to time and I update our official web page above when we do, as well as every Sunday night/Monday morning regardless of any change.)

This is an open and friendly pickup game with players ranging in age from 20-something to 60-something, and we always have sevens with substitutes.

See you out there,
Eric

p.s. Do not lose heart if at 12:58pm you find yourself still all alone on our scheduled field. We've mastered the art of showing up, en masse, in the nick of time. For "ultimate time", not the scheduled start time, that is.

Wait ten more minutes, at most, and you will be astounded at players arriving in great numbers in the manner of blow flies hatching in spring.

Naglee Park San Jose non-competitive game

Contact: Michael Kevane
Email:
Website: http://www.mkevane.com

Sundays: 4:00pm

Fields: grass
Description: Selma Olinder Park behind the baseball field.

In Naglee Park, donwtown San Jose. Take E. William Street, turn at Olinder School, Woodborough Drive. Continue past school, past park, towards the end of park there is a baseball diamond, ultimate frisbee will be on grassy area after baseball.

This is a very informal family-friendly game. One-on-one coverage according to ability, so fast runners/good throwers are paired with similar types, and beginners get paired with beginners... so it can be very even. Kids can be matched with kids, so it can be all ages.

Basic rules:
Two teams line up opposite ends, one team throws to other.
Team advances by passing frisbee and catching.
If frisbee not caught or knocked down or caught out of bounds, possession passes to other team.
Cannot hold frisbee more than 10 seconds...
Goal when catch in end zone.

Description: Join us this Sunday afternoon!

** 4/19/2014 update: Game ON for Sun 4/20 (Easter for some). Meet @ 3pm, games typically starting 3:20 or so. **

Bring a light & a dark shirt (please skip grey & yellow!) - we usually play full 7's with multiple subs, other days it's 5's - be flexible & ready to make matched teams for good, fun play.

This game plays every week unless canceled on the Facebook page - only major holidays or heavy afternoon rain typically cancel the game.

This is a no-stress, friendly pick-up game that welcomes players of ALL experience levels, abilities, ages, and sexes. We come to have fun and play hard – aggressive attitudes stay home.

We meet at the tree near Barrett & Jacksol - come introduce yourself! There is a bathroom and water fountain at the park.

We play by current UPA rules, but defense marks up for a dropped pull (no turnover) and we generally give the benefit of the doubt for close catches, questionable fouls, etc.
